Shore Cottage Isle of Skye - Loved it
The Shore Cottage was perfect for our multi-generation family trip ages 20 yrs to 93 yrs. There was enough space for the 5 of us. The living room was super comfortable, we enjoyed family dinners in the dining area, breakfast in the kitchen and use of the beautiful kitchen to cook our meals. It was quite chilly and rainy and warmed up nicely next to the wonderful wood burning stove. We also walked along the shore during low tide, watched the sea birds and even saw a deer cross the channel during low tide. The out door deck was wonderful. The home felt brand new and was decorated beautifully. We hope to come back someday and will be recommending this cottage to friends. Also, it is an easy drive to Portree. Lastly, the folks at Skye Service were wonderful and helpful. Thank you!

Gorgeous, clean nautical-themed house on the water
This home was built with love—you can just see it—and with so much attention to detail. It was sparkling clean, with the most stunning artwork on the walls, and nautical touches throughout. We felt so cozy and comfortable and were amazed by all the little extras that weren’t listed in the description. The views of the sunsets over the water were breathtaking. I am very picky about where I stay, and usually I can find something I didn’t like, but we honestly loved everything about this home and wish we could’ve stayed longer.

Shore Cottage was perfect for our multi-generation family trip. The location is incredible. We took walks on the shore, and enjoyed watching the wildlife from the kitchen. The home is decorated beautifully and it has everything you need. We cooked together in the well equipped kitchen, enjoyed the dining room for meals, and enjoyed the comfortable living room with a fire in the wood burning stove. Skye Serviced made the check in process and everything very easy. The house, the setting, the views all made it sad to leave. I recommend this beautiful cottage!

This Airbnb is phenomenal. It is gorgeous, so clean and incredibly cozy. It’s a huge place with enough space for everyone, it’s filled with amazing extras like binoculars and a telescope, and was just 100/10 overall. I could not recommend this place more. The host(s) were also very helpful and easily reachable. Perfect stay, we didn’t want to leave. You could spend an entire vacation just in the Airbnb.

Just Spectacular
For those looking for some peace and quiet while traveling in Skye, this is the place to be. Only 3.5 miles from Portree, this home is a wonderful place to relax after a busy day of hiking the beautiful Isle of Skye. The scenery from the deck at sunrise and sunset is spectacular. We spent many nights just relaxing and enjoying the views. The home is well equipped with all things needed while staying there. It is nicely upgraded with modern appliances and furnishings and with three bedrooms allowed all of us to have our own space. We absolutely loved our time there and will definitely book this one the next time we're in Scotland. Just spectacular!

Positive: Fab location, close to portree, lovely house with fab view over water, very comfortable and had everything needed for a short family holiday. Lovely decor, log fire and toiletries. Negative: Was quite pricey, hot water ran out quickly and took a very long time to reheat (not great when trying to bath/shower 4 kids after a cold swim). Could do with mirror in bedroom for doing hair and makeup but it's not essential :) Directions to property said to turn at a phone box which was a bus stop not a phone box so took a while driving round trying to find it

Three couples stay
The view is fantastic and home is very clean with great amenities. Communication was great and directions on how to get there and get in we’re also very accurate. Where things did not work out as well as we had hoped, was with the beds. We had 3 couples and the listing showed that there would be 3 king size beds. Since this was the only location on isle of Skye that advertised 3 large beds, we jumped on it. Turns out there were 2 queen beds and a full or double bed.

This was not accurate. The main bedroom had a queen bed and the other 2 rooms had double or full size beds.

Beautiful house that gives you full access to Skye. Was more than enough room for my small group of 4. Though much of our days were spent traveling around Skye, we loved being able to come back to the house and watch a movie by the fire in the evenings. Kitchen is fully stocked with anything you need for cooking. Gorgeous views from the back patio deck. Very quiet and secluded, but still loved waking up to the soft patter of rain on the windows. Would definitely stay here again and I recommend to anyone looking for a nice place to stay while exploring Skye.

We loved our stay and wished we could have stayed much longer. Beautiful, quiet location. Home is very nicely remodeled. Well-equipped, modern and clean. We loved having a wood burning fireplace and supplies. That was a welcome surprise that pleased the entire family. The proximity to town for shopping/meals and the location for exploring Skye in general could not have been more ideal. It was our favorite location out of 5 we stayed at while traveling around Scotland.

This was a beautiful home that was exactly what was described. You had magnificent views of the water almost from every room: from the kitchen to master bedroom and from the living room. For a family reunion it was a relaxing setting to spend the holidays and explore this beautiful region. Ben the manager was extremely helpful, kind and was very responsive to all our questions. We had some problems trying to work the radiators in the individual rooms and he immediately came over to help us figure it out. When one of the radiators was not working as well he was thoughtful enough to bring an individual portable heater, which was very useful. The kitchen was very well equipped and very conducive to us having one very spectacular, homemade dinner! Although for the costs, we expected a well -maintained home in some ways it exceeded our expectations given the types of amenities and unique location. We would love to return to this spectacular retreat, perhaps in the summer! Thanks Ben!

Beautiful home in a Spectacular waterfront location
Stayed 3 nights at this incredibly lovely and beautifully restored waterfront home away from home and wished we had booked a full week. No question- this was definitely the way to enjoy Skye if you have a car! The house had had everything we could need and the owner was very responsive and gracious enough to come out on a Sunday to look into a glitch with the water heater. My only recommendation would be to post an instructional sheet for some of the appliances and switches and heating units. For us non-UK citizens -many of the controls were a bit confusing to figure out. It would also be helpful to note that any excess trash needs to be taken up the road to the bins as there are none on site. Other than that, our stay, was absolutely brilliant, and we would certainly love to return for a full week in the future!

La maison est fantastique : située au bord du loch, offrant une vue époustouflante sur l'eau et les montagnes, et même sur Old Man of Storr par temps dégagé. Le salon au rez de chaussée est cosy, avec son poêle à bois. La literie est confortable. Le cuisine est tout équipée, mis à part quelques torchons à vaisselle qui auraient été bienvenus. La terrasse avec son mobilier en bois doit être très agréable à la belle saison. Nous avons eu un problème de gaz (la bouteille était vide) et un problème de chasse d'eau sur un WC qui ont été résolus en très peu de temps sur simple appel téléphonique. Service parfait !

Shore Cottage in Portree
A fabulous house on Loch Portree with great views of Portree across the Loch and the Old Man of Storr off in the distance. Located on a small rural road, this house is away from the bustle of downtown Portree, but a 5 minute drive in case you need to go into town for whatever reason. Relax to great sunsets and to the tides going in and out with the ability to take nice walks on the tidal flats at low tide. The house has spacious bedrooms, nice bathrooms, a well-appointed kitchen, and several outdoor seating areas to take in the scenery. If you’re lucky, the sheep in the meadow next door will come down to take a visit. A great stay! Thanks, John!!

Loved watching sunsets. Close to portree and our hosts gave us recommendations as soon as we booked so we weren’t scrambling. Wish we could have stayed longer!

What an unbelievable wee place. We couldn't believe ourselves when we arrived. The house is spacious, beautiful, cosy, with amazing furnishes and the most unbelievable views (I mean, how often do you get to have breakfast with The Old Man of Storr in sight !!!). The checkout was super easy and the house was pristine, too! We spent some really blissful days here, we were almost grateful for the rainy weather that gave us an excuse to cosy up and spend time in the house. Simply a fantastic stay, we cannot wait to return one day- probably going to end up planning an entire trip just around staying at Shore Cottage again!!

We were in Scotland for 2 weeks and stayed in 3 different Airbnbs as well as one hotel. This one not only surpassed all of the others it surpassed any Airbnb we had stayed in before this trip. The cottage was perfect. We made two meals at home in the fantastic kitchen, sipped wine out on the deck, had a fire in the living room (which has a giant window facing the water), did some laundry and made our trips around Skye. The host is very responsive if you do have any questions! A few teeny notes: It had three bedrooms as described although I don't believe 2/3 were a king bed by North American standards. That didn't affect us though. The Wifi was also a little spotty but worked great in the kitchen and dining room (again not the end of the world for us). We splurged a bit as we figured we would be walking a lot in the morning and hoped to have a nice place to come back and still enjoy the beautiful views. If you are second-guessing if it is worth it just do it!

No question- this was definitely the way to enjoy Skye if you have a car! The house had had everything we could need and the owner was very responsive and gracious enough to come out on a Sunday to look into a glitch with the water heater. My only recommendation would be to post an instructional sheet for some of the appliances and switches and heating units. For us non-UK citizens -many of the controls were a bit confusing to figure out. It would also be helpful to note that any excess trash needs to be taken up the road to the bins as there are none on site. Other than that, our stay, was absolutely brilliant, and we would certainly love to return for a full week in the Future!

Nous avons tous adoré notre séjour dans cette maison tout confort offrant de la plupart de ses pièces (cuisine, chambre, salon) des vues fantastiques sur le loch et la campagne. La maison est spacieuse et particulièrement bien équipée tout en étant très bien placée pour l'exploration de Skye. Nous avons aussi apprécié le silence environnant et les attentions à l'arrivée. This house is GORGEOUS! The furniture and kitchen and fixtures were all beautifully put together. The view was outstanding with so many birds at the shore and even deer in the yard. It is a spacious home with many private spaces so if you need time away from friends and family, there are many places to choose from. The living room is a wonderful gathering place for times when you want to enjoy cocktails with one another near the wood burner. We had some cold, windy, and rainy days while we were there and the wood burner was a big plus. You won't be disappointed.

This location in Skye was central and made exploring the island accessible. Being on the water had beautiful views and we would watch the tides come in and out. Our children loved playing and hunting for crabs in low tides. We had unusual sunny weather and spent most meals outside in the deck. The house layout and space was good for our family of 6 and we often cooked our meals in the kitchen.

We loved staying at this cottage. Even when we returned from adventuring out, the joy of eing on Skye continued because of how beautiful the views from this house were. The rooms and showers were comfortable as well as the rest of the home. We cooked all of our meals here, and while some new/more pans are suggested, we found a way to get things cooked. The kitchen has plenty of storage and a great cooking range. We loved it. 10 out of 10 would recommend and stay here again.

This is hands down one of the best rentals we have stayed at. After being in closer confines with our teens, we arrived down the long and winding road (thanks to excellent directions) and were blown away. This house exceeded our expectations. Plenty of space to spread out and all the amenities you could need. The kitchen was lovely, the beds comfy and the views were gorgeous. This made our time on Skye.

Wonderful home in centralized location!
This beautiful home with rich history provided a wonderful stay for our large family to stay and explore Skye as it’s an easy 2 miles from Portree. The home allows for separate, private spaces and centralized gathering places. The home boasts beautiful views from many of the rooms. The host is very responsive and very friendly. I highly recommend this home if you find yourself blessed to be able to visit Isle of Skye.

The perfect getaway spot
We were excited coming to this home just from seeing the pictures and location. When we first walked in and explored room to room, our already high expectations were exceeded! The outdoor patio, beautiful kitchen, the bedroom deck, the fire place, the bench by the water. We spent the first 10-15 mins walking around and admiring all the nice amenities and great decor. You could really feel like it was a home and not just a rental property thrown together. We spent our nights in the living room by the fireplace admiring the mountain and water views out the window. The owners even welcomed us with a bottle of wine which was a very nice touch. We’re already talking about coming back. Thank you!

Beautiful accommodations with very responsive host. The pictures do not reflect the home as the home is prettier than the pictures reflect. Very peaceful location within a few miles of Portree makes this a central location for the entire island. This home allowed for the family to gather or have their separate spaces. I would highly recommend this home.
