Fair to good
We enjoyed our stay and the house is very cute. Thankful of all appliances available. Maybe remove sky as it isn’t paid for so a lot of programmes don’t work, t.v is great as it’s a smart tv so still plenty of choice to watch what you like. Living room seating isn’t very comfortable and the bed isn’t very comfortable might be best if there is a good mattress protector on it?? The dog next door is annoying as it barks a hell of a lot. Heating ... I think maybe a fan for the log burner would help circulate heat in the living room as it’s very hard to heat that room, and is the room that you mostly be in. These however are not complaints (apart from the dog) they are just factors i feel will help improve the stay. The house itself is very lovely and we did enjoy our time there. The caretaker was a very nice man and was lovely to meet him...

An absolutely brilliant, cosy, comfortable cottage on Skye! All the latest mod-cons yet still keeping the original feel of a traditional cottage with the thick, whitewashed walls and drying pulley. Only a short 15 minute drive north of Portree. Extremely comfortable beds and living area - we were sad to leave! Iain and family, Edinburgh.

Great accommodation in beautiful Skye
We would recommend the old post office cottage for a visit to Skye. Great location within 15mins drive to Portree for all amenities, and a great central location to explore the island. The cottage was very cosy and comfortable for my husband, 7 year old son and I. It was clean with everything we needed. The bottle of wine on arrival was a lovely wee touch and very much enjoyed! Thank you for a lovely stay :-)

From the moment I booked, we had great communication from Skye letting , letting us know when we could arrive, which was earlier than the original time, the directions were spot on. In the cottage their is a little wood burner, which we had on at night's, plenty sticks to keep it going and it was so cosy The cottage was so spotlessly clean, which I think is very important at this time, lovely fresh towels and the bedding is professionally cleaned, new carpets and everything you could possibly need in the house There is a nice wooden table and chairs out the back, which we managed to use the first couple of days before the rain started Extremely enjoyable few days, will definitely be back

Great location, but a little basic for the price.
First , the positives. The location is great in the middle of the island, not far from most of the places you’d want to visit. The management company was also helpful and communicative before our stay. The house itself is OK, if a little small and basic in some areas. It was clean and reasonably well equipped, and with quick WiFi. But to be honest it is pretty cramped for four adults - might be better for a couple and two kids. The mattresses could also do with an upgrade at this price level. Also, and I know there’s not much the owners can do about this, but we were woken up every morning by the neighbour’s dog barking at 6/6.30, which was a little irritating on holiday.

Lovely cottage in Bernsidale
The Old Post Office was a really nice cottage in Bernisdale - about 5 miles north of Portree. It was well furnished, with a very comfortable double bed and an excellent shower. It had all the amenities we needed for our stay and everything was nice & clean. The cottage also has a second twin bedded room so could accommodate four people. There was a bottle of wine on arrival which was very much appreciated after a long day driving & sightseeing plus it was my birthday so that went down very well indeed and was a very nice touch. We can't recommend the cottage enough and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there!

A great 3 days in a lovely cottage. Very comfortable and welcoming. Well equipped kitchen (small but just enough space). Good shower. Very clean throughout. Comfy beds. Lovely front and rear gardens with lots of bulbs and a great bird feeder (fat balls provided :). I will definitely stay there again!

This is one of our favorite places to stay ever! The Old Post Office is very small but oh so cozy. We ended up with 5 of us (the late addition of my daughter!) so it was tight but we felt very comfortable. The kitchen is well supplied, the bathroom clean and the beds comfortable. We especially loved the little cast iron fireplace, call the Hobbit! Very relaxing and very centrally located for exploring Skye!

Perfect Cosy Cottage
We only stayed in the Old Post Office for three nights and we wish we'd booked for longer. This is a perfect small cottage in a central location, easy to get to both Portree and Edinbane. Facilities were really good... the only thing missing were egg cups! I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

You won’t regret this place! Plenty of room for 4 people settled in mountains of Isle of Skye. More than 4 people might make it a little crowded even though there was another bed in the loft. The location was perfect for getting in everything on our things-to-see list the next day. From here we were able to easily travel to Fairy Glen, Kilt Rock, Storr Rock, and even across to the Dunvegan castle before making our way down the coast to our next stop in Glenlivet. There were some issues finding the place, but we are so thankful the hosts were quick to respond. There was no not answering of the phone even though they were out celebrating their birthday. I couldn’t be more pleased with the way the mishap was handled, which happened to be an Airbnb technical error, and of no fault of theirs. I highly recommend staying here and would definitely return!

This place is very cute and cozy. We wish we could have stayed longer. The front and back gardens are both quite nice. The kitchen is equipped to whip up a nice meal after stopping at the Coop on the edge of Portree. When we arrived there was a bottle of wine and fresh flowers waiting on the dining table. Those were great touches go an already solid place. The internet was a pretty impressive (for rural Skye) 20 Mbps downstream. Crack open some wine (or whisky) and light a fire in the stove while rain falls gently all evening long. That left us happy!

Isle of Skye is an exceptional place and this cottage was ideal for exploring it. Great location on the Trotternish peninsula and just a 12 minute drive to Portree. The cabin is cozy with beautiful and eclectic art pieces depicted various images of Skye. We used the Sheila maid (hanging drying rack) daily for wet clothes or newly washed clothes. The separate entry way was also helpful at containing the mud and our exterior layers. It has its own door which helps keep the inside of the cottage toasty warm. The layout was perfect for our family of 4. One helpful tip, the old post office is literally right next to the old red telephone booth!

Fantastic wee house in Skye, perfect for a family of 3 or 4, with luxury touches such as Arran soap and shampoo (so lovely!). We were there in October and the house was very warm and cosy, so convenient too with all amenities available (dishwasher, washing machine, good hair drier, microwave oven,...), We couldn't ask for more. The location is ideal for visiting the Trotternish, Vaternish, Dunvegan areas and it's only 10min to Portree. Because of Covid 19 we cooked all our meals and the kitchen, although small, was very practical and very well equipped (can I say more cutlery wouldn't be a miss 😊). We were extremely lucky with the weather and were out a lot but we still spent some great time relaxing in the house with a hot chocolate, fire and great views of the hills. Good time to be had!

Our stay at the Old Post Office was hard to fault. We are always a bit suspicious about Airbnbs run by third party agencies, but this one had very clear communication and all went smoothly. Was great to have a very cosy and comfortable place for one of the rainy days we had on Skye, when it was too windy and rainy to spend much time outdoors. The place was well equipped and we couldn’t think of anything we’d improve. This was expensive but worth it for a short stay.

We had a lovely stay at the Old Post Office - such a wonderful cute and cosy little cottage. Great location to be based for exploring different parts of Skye and for whatever walking/activity you are up to. Little touches like the bottle of wine left at check in made all the difference, and the amenities such as washing machine were much appreciated after a long day out in the changeable Skye weather! We also mistakenly left a bag behind and the hosts went out of their way to ensure it was returned to us. Definitely a place to be recommended.

We spent a week in Skye with awesome weather so didn’t use the lovely wood burner which I’m sure in more inclement weather would have made the cosy post office even more comfortable and homely. I would definitely consider staying here again.

The Old Post Office was exactly as advertised - clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated and a great remodel of a historic building. We had a rental car, which made it very easy to get to the house and see the entire island. The location is central for seeing the whole island. The kitchen is exceptionally well outfitted for a rental, which was so nice since I have food allergies and often have to cook in. We had three adults staying in the house and were very comfortable. Only stayed three nights, but could have happily stayed for a much longer visit. Great communication beginning to end. Thank you!

A truly splendid place. Rather cozy but with all the modern fit and finishes that you'd ever need. A short drive to town and near enough to nearly all of Skye's many sights. Really enjoyed returning at the end of a long cold day to a warm fireplace!

This is one of our favorite places to stay ever! The Old Post Office is very small but oh so cozy. We ended up with 5 of us (the late addition of my daughter!) so it was tight but we felt very comfortable. The kitchen is well supplied, the bathroom clean and the beds comfortable. We especially loved the little cast iron fireplace, call the Hobbit! Very relaxing and very centrally located for exploring Skye!

The Old Post house is very authentic and welcoming. Directions to find the house and to check in were easy and accurate and the home is just as described. The area is absolutely breathtaking and nothing is far on the island. We had a fabulous dinner cloese-by at Edinbane lodge, visited the Fairy Pools, Talisker Distillery and Skye Skins. Thanks again Skye Serviced for providing us with a beautiful homebase away from home. We enjoyed our stay on Skye very much.

Positive: Very cosy and atmospheric. Nice walking /bike route to the nearby river (Snizort) for amazing swimming spot under the old bridge. Extremely quiet and cosy comfortable evenings with the wood stove crackling away. Negative: The house didn't have as good access to the sea as we had hoped for, best access was right along to the end of the peninsula, not across the field in front of the house as we had hoped.

The equipment in the cottage exceeded my expectations and the toiletries were a lovely touch. We loved it. Also great communication from the agency who service it. Positive: The Old Post Office was excellent and I would recommend it to anyone. It was small, but that was expected for a crofter's cottage on Skye. The size was fine for three. Equipment and facilities were great, the location was also good (about 5 miles easy drive from both Portree and Edinbane), and it has bags of character. Negative: I would struggle to find any faults. It was missing eggcups? That's about all :-)

Cozy, unique place to stay while exploring Skye
We loved our stay at the Old Post Office. It is just as quaint as pictured with lovely decor and clever ways to make the most of the limited space in a small cottage. The kitchen is well supplied, as is the bathroom. There is a tablet with information about the area as well as video clips demonstrating how to use the appliances. (helpful for international travelers). The bottle of wine was a nice tough, too ! It is in an peaceful place with a field across the road about 10 minutes drive from Portree and good spot to explore northern Skye.

Positive: The space was a perfect size for 4 people traveling together. Small kitchen, but easy to cook in and maneuver around. The living room was spacious and lots of light in the house. It was a good place to start our journey to other parts of Isle of Skye from. Negative: We were very lucky to have our travels when there was only a few hours of rain. But just be aware that when there is rain, there are lots of bugs around this space. I think it might just be the area -- and then it gets musky inside after rain. *having a dehumidifier would be helpful in that house for sure.

Amazing, beautifully appointed and clean / pristine SMALL cottage not near anything, but central to everything!! Quiet (even though it backs to a major road) and very private. Instructions are in video format on a supplied tablet - nice touch!! Kitchen has all you need (and more) and the bathroom is a good size for such a small place. If we’re ever back on Isle of Skye we’ll be sure to stay here again!!

If you are looking for a charming place right in the middle, this cottage is a great choice. It takes around 15 min to get to restaurants and shops. Location is very peaceful and the place is very cosy. We travelled with baby and were provided not only with high chair but bunch of nappies (never too many!) That was unexpected but so kind gesture. The place was so clean that our baby, who tried to touch almost everything within the reach, never had a sign of dust on his clothes or hands.

The house was very clean, lots of fuel and firewood provided for the log burner and very tastefully decorated. Very coorie !! We will definitely stay here again. NB a lot of comments about neighbours dog barking.... you would need batmanesque hearunf levels to be able to hear him once windows are closed. And its a dog....its what they do folks.

This place was everything that engulfs Scotland. The layout was perfect for us, as 2 couples. It’s was so comfortable, the little stove was so cute and cozy. The drying rack was just awesome as well. Perfectly located for our travels around Skye. Instructions were well received once we got into the house… The only hiccup we had was lack of communication for the arrival. We had to wait and make a few phone calls from other sites to get a hold of the management team. But once I got someone, they were so helpful and informative and explained what happened. Our stay was amazing! Thank you

Pur accomodation had to be changed last minute but the options provided were excellent and our eventual choice was just beautiful. Staff on hand were very helpful with the WiFi issue
