This was the best stay we had during our trip around Scotland. It‘s a bit on the pricier side but you get a modern and well equipped apartment which makes it worth the money. The kitchen was the best equipped kitchen I‘ve ever seen in an airbnb with good quality equipment and appliances. The bathroom is modern and the tv has streaming services implemented. The view was outstanding! My personal highlight was the oven which made our stay very cozy and enjoyable. But have in mind that the next supermarket is more than half an hour away so stock accordingly if you‘re planning to stay longer. There’s even boardgames for when you‘re stuck inside because of bad weather. Also the hosts were very quick to reply and had plenty of recommendations for the area. They were very nice and helpful during our entire stay. I would definitely stay here again.

We had an amazing stay at Silverwood. I cannot recommend it highly enough. First of all the house itself is exactly as described. Everything is immaculate and we found it equipped with everything we could possibly need. It truly is an exceptional place. Then there's the area - Wow! We could have spent the week just looking at that view from the front windows. But it was also an ideal base to explore the dramatic north of the Island - particular highlights were the coral beach in Claigan, Neist Point, a drive through the Quiraing and a climb up the Old Man of Storr! Awe inspiring landscapes all. In short an incredible house in the most stunning location. A true 5 star experience.

The house was incredibly beautiful and clean. Looks better than the images. Super easy and accessible. Kitchen fully equipped providing the essentials ( as well as olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper). We were left with a lovely bottle of white wine by Ben and the team at SSA. The cleaners Charmian & Basia had done an impeccable job of cleaning for when we arrived. Thank you for having us. It was the most magical Easter weekend. Please note that the closest supermarket / petrol station is a good 30 minute drive away. Be prepared.

Fantastic place to stay. It is a beautiful apartment that is completely luxurious. The views out of the huge windows are unreal, especially at sunset. It was the perfect place to come back to after a day of exploring, especially as the weather on skye can be unpredictable. The apartment itself is built to incredibly high standards, and amazingly warm and well insulated. All of the furnishings were amazing. The whole experience was a real treat.

This house was beautiful. The scenery was spectacular, it was super clean and the decor made you feel at home. It was an exceptionally tranquil stay. Mum and I stayed for 3 nights and we had the best time. It’s very easy to find, my only note for people coming to visit would be make sure you do a food shop before arrival as the closest supermarkets are 30-40 minute drive. There are a lot of farm animals surrounding which made it super peaceful and calming. Forever grateful for this home for allowing us to have made the memories we did. Also the tv offers every station possible, Netflix, Disney you name it. Highly recommend!

We loved staying here. A striking building, warm and really modern inside with everything you could need for your stay. And if you like incredible views, this is place for you. We loved starting every day with of our stay with a cup of coffee and sitting looking out of the floor to ceiling windows, watching the lambs chasing each other in the field next door and seeing the light constantly change across the water. A really wonderful stay in this beautiful part of the world.

Beautiful compact house, with fabulous views. The pictures on the website didn't do the property justice it looked brand new. Clean, bright and cosy, with floor to ceiling windows which allowed uninterrupted views. Only observations are it is quite remote, although the Stein Inn was nearby, which was good for dinner and the Yurt cafe is walkable from the property. A coffee machine (Nespresso) would be a good addition but I am being super picky. Overall loved the place would certainly come back.

Silverwood is a manufactured modular home that is constructed of the finest design. For 2 people this place is comfortable. The windows and deck door open to let the Skye winds to cool the house on warm days and close up tight to keep the house warm on cold nights. The views are what you are paying for just amazing. Peaceful relaxing remote. The shower provides a refreshing instant temp rain soak. The kitchen has all the tools and utensils you need. The little instructions on how to work the doors and wood stove are perfect. The location is at the end of Waternish peninsula about 30 mins from Portree so gas up and stock up. You are within a traditional Crofting community. Stein Inn, we went, you will love… whisky venison seafood it’s the best. Hike out to Waternish light house park at Trumpan church, learn about the history, then follow the instructions it’s about 8 mile round trip with views of Outter Hebrides sheep cows and ruins. Explore Trotternish and Dunvegan peninsulas.

Spacious, light and warm with the most amazing view that never failed to inspire, even when a bit grey, T V not needed! The property is reasonably kitted out, some basics are missing if you enjoy cooking and going to be self catering. Could have been cleaner - dirty plates left by a previous occupier, obviously not checked. These are fairly minor, but it is a premium priced property so you'd expect 100%.

I recently stayed at Silverwood for three nights (a last minute booking). What can I say? I only wish I could have stayed longer. The property is situated in Hallin and has spectacularly views. I was really impressed with the design of the property and it has clearly been very well thought out. There is a Charnwood fire and excellent broadband. It has been decorated really well and a lot of thought has been given, for example, even simple ideas (such as auro night lights) which I thought worked really well. I actually ordered some for my own home. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wishing to visit Skye. A great location, a great place and communication was excellent. Thank you again for a wonderful stay.

This was a great place - a couple of things could have been better, suggest adding a coffee machine, some sort of fan for the bedroom. In addition one of the blinds was not present (it was mentioned after the fact this was broke by a previous guest and being replaced and on order, but no pre warning) which prohibited full sense of privacy. That being said, the place was great, views are incredible and it’s the type of place you envision staying at when planning a trip to Skye, I would recommend this place to anyone looking to explore the beautiful isle!

What more can I say - the views are spectacular. The accommodation has excellent broadband and services. It was clean, comfortable and had everything you would need for self catering. There is a Charnwood fire which we lit on the evenings after coming back from long walks and simply admired the incredible view. The bed was comfortable and hot water available at all times when we needed it. If you’re looking for a quite, peaceful place to stay, then I’d highly recommend Silverwood. The hosts were responsive and very helpful. I only wish I could have stayed more days but sadly there was another booking. Thanks for a superb stay.

Morning coffee with a fabulous view! The property is absolutely lovely, well designed, well appointed, and spotlessly clean. The hosts have thought of practically everything. When I had a question about how to operate the combination washer/dryer, the hosts responded quickly. They also provide you with GPS coordinates to ensure you find the place. None of our map programs would take us all the way to the house. There are neighbors immediately next door but the property is set in a manner that it feels completely private. The area is quite remote but we chose it for its views and and lack of light pollution. There is a wonderful restaurant, The Stein Inn, a couple miles away where I had one of the best meals I’ve ever had. If you get the chance, go. All in all, we wished we could have stayed longer. If we’re lucky enough to return to Skye, we’ll choose Silverwood again. Julie L

Silverwood Relaxing Retreat
What a fantastic relaxing time we have had at the Silverwood. The location could not be more perfect and the view was outstanding! Not to mention the perfect star-gazing haven. The property is very clean and modern with all the necessary amenities and the log burner was a lovely touch, keeping us cosy. There is also couple of the best rated resturants on the Isle approx. 6 mins from the Silverwood. I would definitely stay again and would recommend.

This is an incredible location with incredible views, the photos do not do it justice. My priority was to have breathtaking views and this property provided them. The house is warm and cozy and spotless and it has everything you need for an enjoyable stay, including good wifi. We cooked several meals in the house and had everything we needed. It's about 40 minutes to the nearest grocery store in Portree. Once you turn off the two lane road it takes another 15 minutes down the one lane road to arrive at the house. You can search YouTube for videos explaining how to drive on the one lane roads and use the passing places. There are several sites within 1 or 1.5 hours drive of the property. We went to Coral Beach, Quiraing, Old Man of Storr, Fairy Pools, Fairy Glen and other places and they were all within an hour or so drive. We also booked an excursion to tour a local croft farm, which is very close. The house is truly amazing and I hope to visit again one day.

The views, the accommodations, the location… it was all top notch. We had the absolute best stay and could not recommend the Silverwood enough. It is remote, but that was exactly what we wanted. There are so many places within driving distance for things to do, places to eat and places to find supplies. The place is clean, cozy and beautiful. We really loved our stay here & hope to stay again soon We had trouble finding the house but luckily agent was available to give more info The house is beautifully furnished with lovely views & sunsets from sitting room windows We had one problem which was quite major in that agent failed to reply to our requests for a couple of issues to be resolved during our stay - the shower wasn’t draining away quickly so we ended up showering with our feet in dirty water above our ankles & dodgy bedroom electrics meant one of the side lights flickered on & off sporadically & mainly didn’t work agents sent email the day after we arrived asking if everything was ok & to let them know of any issues & then failed to respond at all! to our emails asking for these issues to be dealt with so it was clearly an automatically generated email If owners can sort out a way of dealing with issues during guests’ stays this is the perfect place for a relaxing break

Our stay at Silverwood was brilliant. Nothing beats waking up to have breakfast infront of the stunning view from the livingroom. The log burner was a great addition as well. The house was clean and well prepared and the bottle of wine in the fridge was a welcome addition. We will definatley be back again.

It’s such a beautiful view! We loved staying here on the Isle of Skye except that during the daytime, the living area with the big windows was cooking. We went in august and there was more sun than expected, so temps for high. It’s the UK so no air conditioning, but there wasn’t even a fan. It was much cooler in the small, dark bedroom at the back so we spent afternoons in there… I would have rather been enjoying the view. My recommendation is to just purchase a fan for us American tourists who prefer a little moving air. Also, be sure to bring midge repellant in the summer. I got quite a few bites. 100% worth it though.

The little cabin was perfect for a quiet and peaceful getaway. View was stunning as you can see the sea and the cliffs from the backyard. It was too cold and wet to sit outside cos we came during winter but would have been the perfect spot to meditate if the weather allows. The little fireplace was a godsend in this cold weather. The location is however very remote, and drive to Portree is 35minutes one way. Luckily the kitchen came fully furnished and we end up cooking on days when we came back early (cos of the rain) or when the sight we are traveling to is in opposite direction to Portree. Just make sure to stock up on groceries from Co-op. If you are tourist like us in Isle looking to explore all the key sights, be prepared to drive quite a bit each day out and back, but the view along the drive is priceless. It’s really a lovely place to just disconnect and zen out.

We are not traveling to a place such as a remote island to be treated like numbers by robots. This is maybe the case in big cities. No, Skye deserves a personal touch. Someone who is personally communicating with you and cares. Fortunately, I insisted (and it was much unpleasant) to meet with someone (agent or manager) upon our arrival. Only at the last moment, I have been answered positively. The owner’s presence helped me to locate the property because we were lost and confused. Thank you, dear owner for your precious time… Technology is fine. But a human contact is much better …

My husband and I adored this magical place. It's the ideal place to take a break from the busyness of life and soak up the fresh Skye air while watching the sea and wildlife around you. There are a few restaurants within a 5 minute drive that are outstanding. The Stein Inn is a place I wish we had at home. Eclectic decor, wonderful service and delicious food, a few doors down is the Loch Bay Restaurant. It's a 1 Michelin Star restaurant with gorgeous food & excellent service. The food served at both places feature local seafood, meats, and produce. That being said, Silverwood is set up for cooking in, we did that a few nights during our stay as well. We already dreaming of returning to the little piece of heaven on earth. Thanks for a great stay!

Great location, close to the Stein Inn and Loch bay restaurants which are fantastic. Amazing views, very comfy bed and side. Perfect for a couples get away. Would highly recommend. Looks exactly as pictured, if not better.

Wonderful abode
Very serene. Second rental next door but wall provides privacy and buffer. Salt and pepper, olive oil and basalmic available during our stay. I failed to ask in enough time in advance so bought some anyway. Lovely home with beautiful views!
