Lovely stay in Waternish
The cottage is wonderfully cosy and beautifully situated with an amazing view over the water. It is in a remote and tranquil location, but easy to navigate from Waternish all over the island to the keys sights and hikes. Closer by, there are great trails and roads for running and cycling from the doorstep. The cottage is extremely well maintained with modern appliances. We are eager to come back again!

Beautiful home in stunning location
We stayed in this gorgeous home for three nights. The house is fully equipped, like a home from home and immaculately clean. You can tell a lot of thought and consideration has went into the decor. Many thanks for a lovely stay we had five nights celebrating our daughters 30th birthday. The cottage was beautifully decorated and fully equipped.The only thing I might add is a glass measuring jug to make porridge in the microwave and mattress toppers for the beds as my husband and I felt the buttons of the mattress and the springs through the sheets. We really appreciated the large disposable bbq after mentioning to you we hoped to bbq during our stay. Stunning location with spectacular views not for people without a car as a wee bit away from things but would definitely recommend and would stay again.

What a wonderful few days we had. Home is perfect and has everything you should need/want. We enjoyed fantastic sunsets, star gazing with the supplied telescope and met the local Highlander cows! The house is wonderfully decorated and looked after, and after a day of driving around the sights this Mama truly appreciated the bubble tub!! 🥂 Have recommended to all our friends! This is the fourth time we have used Skye Serviced Accommodation and will not hesitate to return again with them next year. Their is a high level of customer care and communication before you arrive, and while you are at one of their homes, but not to the point of intrusion. The homes, (they are more than holiday houses), are furnished and equipped to a high standard, and upon arrival you immediately feel relaxed and ready to tackle Skye! Magical Memories Made on Skye
Dunhallin Ard had everything we could have asked for and more. I greatly appreciated the communications before arrival and the ease of finding the rental. We felt the wonderful seclusion of the cottage but also felt we had all of our needs met. An added bonus was that gorgeous nature could be seen from every window. We took advantage of the fantastic kitchen for cooking, enjoyed the cast iron stove, sitting outside, and ping pong table. Everything was just perfect for our stay.

Extremely clean. Kitchen had everything you would need to cook a meal. We had fun with the ping pong table - who would have thought, ha. We said more than once, we wish would could have stayed longer. The house is a little hard to locate in the dark, sitting on top of the hill, not on the road like the rest of the homes. It was extremely quiet and peaceful. We would like to go back and stay for a month.

The only negative thing I would point out, which is a serious issue if you are planning to cook, is that the oven is, well, not working, at least not on a roast dinner scale. This is a home away from home with everything you need such as coffee, soaps, laundry soap, washer, drier, firewood for the fireplace, comfy bed with lots of pillows, dishes, wine glasses, tea. Host was quick to respond and set up the instructions for everything in the house. I recommend staying here during your trip to isle of Skye. You never know when the weather will turn out rainy and cold and you want a nice comfortable place to relax. We found ourselves playing cards in the living room by the fire every night. 10/10 recommend and will be back!

We really enjoyed our 5 night stay in Dunhallin Ard. It is a lovely house set up a steep incline away from the road which makes it very private. It is beautifully decorated and very well equipped in a stunning location with fantastic views, a perfect space for 6 adults. You will need to stock up on food before you go as it is a fair distance from a supermarket but there is a village shop in Dunvegan . If you want to eat out at the nearest restaurants/ Inn in Stein you definitely need to book in advance.

The space is cozy, carefully designed and set up with everything you need. The views are spectacular and the cottage is well equipped for your stay in Skye, it’s a great base for exploring the island and returning in the evening to a beautiful setting. Communication was great from the hosts and check in/out went very smoothly. Definitely will recommend to family and friends! Negative: The only complaint that we had was that the wheelie bins are right at the bottom of the property and we had to take all rubbish down the hill, it would be good if there was some form of bigger bin nearer the property.

We had a lovely holiday but there were a few niggles that could be easily rectified.
Positive: Property was spacious and there was lots of seating in the living room to accommodate everyone. The view was really special. Loved the games in the garage great for a wet day. Bathrooms were good quality. Negative: The mattress in the main bathroom was very creaky and needs replacing. The dishwasher was too small for six people. The radiator in the living room didn't come on and the controls were broken so we needed to light a fire if it got a bit chilly (which it did). The seals on the log burner need replacing as it was difficult to stop the fire consuming the logs.

Positive: The views and location are spectacular. Property is spotlessly clean and well managed. Nice decor and quality furniture. Cosy log fire. Everything has been thought of to make the stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. Negative: Minor suggestions for improvement. Some of the springs in the master bed had gone on the left side of the room and made it a little uncomfortable for the person sleeping on that side. Short of cereal/soup bowls in the kitchen and less than the number of people accommodated for in the house. Although these didn't take away from our lovely stay.

Be patient and courteous on the drive to and from the house. The drive is part of the experience and the charm. Everything we thought we would need was ready and waiting for us. The only convenience missing in the kitchen was a good cheese slicer for some of the delicious Scottish cheddar cheeses we bought. 🙂 The host answered all of our questions before we arrived. This house definitely accommodates 4 adults and 2 children - or 6 adults with two on single beds very comfortably. Negative: The beds could use an update in the near future. The water had a different taste/after taste. I don't think there is anything the host could do about that?

We had an absolutely fantastic stay in this cosy home - would highly recommend for getting away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The log fire was a pue luxury after cold days out exploring in the snow and ice! This is the only thing I would advise that we didn't realise - the place is located up quite a steep hill and one night we had to leave the car down the bottom and hike up the icy hill as the car wouldn't go! This is no fault of the owners at all, simply to be considered if you are thinking of going in winter! But I feel it was worth the extra effort due to the beautiful snowy landscape and crisp mornings in this beautiful area.

This is a superb house in a stunning location, very spacious and comfortable, tastefully furnished and equipped with every possible thing you might need! We thoroughly enjoyed our special occasion weekend although it was (for us anyway) an expensive option for three nights. But we are glad we pushed the boat out. The house is within easy driving of many lovely walks, distillery visits etc. We also set off from the house and walked up to the Broch on the hill above. There are several restaurants offering "fine dining" at high prices, but if you are actually hungry you can't do better than Sunday lunch at the Old Inn at Carbost (remember to book).

Cosy beautiful cottage perfect for our family holiday. Boys loved the ping pong table and darts and we all enjoyed cosy evenings by the fire. Our family loved Dunhallin Ard! It is a bit remote, but the house is beautiful with amazing 180 degree views of the ocean. It was a great place for refuge after full days of exploration of Isle of Skye. The house was very clean and well equipped. Given its remote location, it was helpful to get groceries in Portree and Dunvegan. Dinner at The Stein Inn (5 min) away from the house is a must! I would highly recommend this place.

Honestly couldn't recommend this property any higher. All of us loved our stay, unfortunately it had to come to an end after a very comfortable 4 nights Very close to Loch Bay if you're wanting to dine there (I couldn't quite convince my mam to book dinner for 6 there) and Dunvegan. If we were ever planning another family trip away to Skye again then this property would be top of the list. Was perfect for what we needed during the 4 days, had all the amenities we needed and stunning views to wake up to each morning even when the weather turned dreich. All of us loved our stay, which was as comfortable as any we've had. Our only regrets were we didn't get that table tournament in, nor did we get the chance to head into the Stein Inn. Next time perhaps. Bath with with the water jets was a very welcome surprise after the long drive over. Couldn't recommend this Airbnb any more highly. Thanks for having us.

A few things not as expected
Given we paid £980 for a 3 night stay there are a few things that could have been better. However the location of the property was what we wanted - remote with a beautiful view. If booking yourself you should be aware that many restaurants close for long periods over the winter months including Christmas as do many places of interest. I was not happy at having a £60 cleaning fee added to my booking at the last minute, the payment link was sent too late for me to change my plans and to add insult to injury I received an email prior to check out with a list of instructions on cleaning required to be completed by ourselves. Some guests may not mind be charged a cleaning fee on top of being asked to do the cleaning themselves but I thought it was outrageous. Nonetheless I paid the cleaning fee and left the property in an immaculately clean condition myself and so far all of my emails regarding this and other issues at the property remain ignored.

We stayed here as a couple with a small dog. We felt right at home soon arrival, the accommodation is spacious, well laid out but also very cosy. We were snowed in for the entirety of our visit of 4 days, we could not get the car out of the street no matter how hard we tried. This also left a slightly tricky situation for carrying the contents of our car up to the house, as the driveway is about 100m long and quite steep, due to the snow and ice we had to leaver the car down by the local village hall and cart our belongings up. This cannot be helped though and wouldn't be a problem if the weather wasn't so icy/snowy. The living room is perfectly cosy - we loved the log burning fireplace. Views from the master bedroom and living room are beautiful, and there was everything we needed at our disposal in the accommodation. The bath is lovely and large, perfect for relaxing. Overall great value for money, and we would definitely stay again. The comfort of the bed was also a highlight!

We arrived to a beautiful sunset and then sat outside and watched shooting stars in the pitch black night. We wakened to glorious sunshine which stayed with us all weekend. The views are amazing from the house and we enjoyed sitting with a few glasses of wine, watching the small boats sailing by. The house is if a high standard with comfy beds and a great wood burning stove, which is lovely at the end of the day. The kitchen is large with a good sized dining table. We really enjoyed our short stay here and Skye was as always stunning. I would recommend this property.

I’ve visited many countries and have had terrific holidays and Skye is definitely one of the top 5. A huge factor in the visit was that every detail was considered for guests to thoroughly enjoy themselves. We played ping pong, watched the boats through the telescope, had a fire and sipped scotch on the patio while taking in the sea view. The location was remote yet close enough to sites such as Dunvegan Castle and Old Man of Storr. A highlight was the multi course dinner at Loch Bay. A sign of how perfect the visit was, everyone wants to return.

Overall happy with our stay Negative: Several things added up to make this fall short of a great experience. Major issue with fireplace doors not closing, room filling with smoke and alarms going off. While property managers responded promptly via WhatsApp, they never came around to check it the next day as they said they would. The printed instructions and Whatsapp feedback did not solve the issue, so we ended up with 3 attempts, all resulting in smoke filled rooms and alarms going off until it finally stopped for unknown reasons. We suspect fireplace was not cleaned properly combined with poorly fixed doors and vents. Small issues such as inconsistent water temperature in showers (including sudden burning hot) and some soap bottles broken added to this.

We had a great 4 days at Dunhallin Ard, the location is great with stunning views whatever the weather. It is quite remote but that just adds to the experience. It is very cosy with a well equipped kitchen and very comfortable beds.

We had a wonderful stay at Dunhallin Ard which provided us with a great base for our 4 nights in Skye. Despite it being a little colder than expected it was nice and warm and homely with a stunning view to wake up to. Skye Accommodations were there to answer any questions we had and we will definitely use them again if we get the chance to return to Skye in the future.
