Great stay on Skye
Fantastic place for visiting Skye. We didn’t want to leave. The house is perfect for a base while walking, mountaineering or visiting the Fairy pools... especially as you can take a sauna after a day in the hills or make a nice roaring fire (remember that Skye is a destination if you want something more remote and beautiful ...so don’t go looking for a shopping centre if you want to take your holidays there - perfect for us). It was immaculately clean too. I’ve stayed in a lot of places all over the world and this is in my top 10 - hope to stay again some time soon. Thanks a million.

Exceeded expectations. Spacious. Everything so clean, equipped and finished to a high standard. Most important, the beds were so comfortable with lightweight but warm duvets. The log burner was cosy on a rainy day. Location great, lovely to sit in the well placed chairs to look out at the hills and waterfall. Would definitely go back.

Beautiful holiday home on Skye
Fully equipped home, warm, bright and comfortable. My friends and I used it as a base to go on hiking trips around Skye. Perfectly located, not too far from portree, but tucked away that we felt isolated enough - a huge plus given that we were hoping to escape the city.

Absolutely lovely
We stayed here in November which is really cold, wet and windy but the place kept us very warm, especially with the sauna. Bedrooms: Beds were comfy and warm and plenty of storage for all your clothes for a good while, rooms were also equipped with hairdryers and the top floor master bedroom was fitted with a ceiling fan incase you got too warm. The upstairs bathroom was great really enjoyed the deep bathtub Theres also a twin bedroom upstairs which we never really used apart from one night this room is alot cooler. Downstairs bedroom with its own bathroom also was pretty nice, the shower has a full body function but you cant use it at the same time as the shower head. The main bathroom was where the sauna is located the sauna was amazing and is the highlight of this property we were in it almost every day of our stay, the shower in the main bathroom however we couldn't get it to turn on because the water dial was stuck. The livingroom/Dining room was very spacious the sofa however is in parts and wasnt connected together so parts of it would slide away from each other but it was comfy nonetheless, this room also has a fireplace with plenty of wood and firestarters provided although we never used it as the house was pretty warm as is, the dinning room was great pretty big table for 6 people. The kitchen has everything you need apart from there was no bin bags provided so id recommend bringing your own theres also Portree shops to get supplies its a 20 min drive. Other than that everything worked as is theres even a dishwasher to make life easier. Utility room was great too has a washing machine, dryer, iron, hoovers and mops and also has a backdoor which was useful to us as we brought our own little hot tub which we sat out the back where theres a hose and power supply on the outside. Garden is a pretty decent size with benches, BBQ in the shed and plenty of space to park cars again round the back was great to place your own hot tub like a lazy spa.

Skye holiday
What a lovely cottage. Everything was excellent from the standard of the property and it's contents to the location. We loved that we were not in a busy place and loved the surrounding wildness right at the doorstep. This was a family celebration and we all had a super time and mainly due to where we stayed - it had everything anyone could need and really appreciated the bottle of wine left, we used it to toast the 2 birthdays we were celebrating. Perfect family retreat
We reserved this as a break from the big city. Our oldest daughter is at University in Aberdeen so we came from the US to visit her. We stayed at Karinya for her 21st birthday. Lots of hiking, exploring and just being together outside - it was time for a break from our Minnesota winter. This property is beautiful, fully stocked. Beds were very comfortable, kitchen perfect for family dinners - if coming from the south/east, shop before you get here - if not, the Co-op in Portree is good enough! If visiting or dining in Portree, check hours ahead of time - shops tend to close very early. Loved it here and would come back in a heartbeat!! THANKS BEN!!

Wonderful, spacious and spot home-away-from-home on Skye
Myself, husband and 82-year-old mum spent four days here in June. With the downstairs bedroom en suite, in addition to a second double upstairs, this was perfect for us, with Mum able to sleep downstairs and avoid any stairs. The house was spotless and well-presented with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I would say the non-stick frying pan perhaps needs replacing to make scrambled eggs less of a chore. We also found the location to be centrally situated with a good range of restaurants within fairly easy reach. Our favourite restaurant was The Old School in Duvegan and fyi there is a fab bakery across the road (the bakery closes at 2pm). Portree has a big Co-Op for groceries but we shopped before travelling to Skye.

Spacious modern house off the busy roads but still conveniently close to Portree and easy route to Dunvegan. Very polite and professional management contact. Plenty of room for family of four. Although it seemed a bit out of the way as it wasn't near Portree, it was near the fairy pools and other beautiful scenery so we're glad we took a chance on the location. Honestly, this was just the loveliest property and the nicest AirBnb we've ever stayed in - surrounded by the stunning landscape of Skye. The newbuild design is very open and airy but also cosy - the underfloor heating was great; the whole place was spotless and very well fitted out; beds were super comfy; WiFi good and the communication was fantastic. Sidenote: In case you're interested in Astrophotography, on a clear night, the house is far enough away from light pollution that you can see the band of the milky way quite clearly, right outside the door. Gorgeous. Will absolutely be back.

All top-notch. It has everything one may need. It is also quite luxurious with regards to fluffy and comfortable bedding/beds and bathroom towels. Lastly, we had a somewhat difficult time finding the house because we were traveling at night; however, the Skye team (Ben, in particular) was so patient and helpful to find our way. There was a bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived, and the beds were extremely comfy. The kitchen could do with some new knives, but otherwise the cooking equipment was great. As everyone is saying the property is at good location., Yes it is. We expected luxury property from the photographs posted on Air BnB but it turn out to be a below average. The owner try to save money everywhere. The TV in the sitting room is of unknow brand and response was very slow on TV APPs. We were surprised to find old plasma TV in the main bed room. There are three bath rooms but we could only use bathroom with the down stair bedroom because master bed room bath has hand shower which makes whole bathroom wet and then water leaks to the down stair bathroom. The down stair bathrooms fittings were of very poor quality, thermostatic valve temperature knob was very very hard to operate. Please note, there isn't ensuite bath with third bedroom so they have to use down stair bathroom. There wasn't tea/ coffee/sugar in the property so don't forget to carry your own as the nearest shop is 20 miles away.

Positive: Karinya is a beautiful and comfortable house, well positioned with views of the top of the Cuillins and all the Red Hills. The bedrooms were very well appointed and the house was far enough from the road for it not to be an issue. The double height living room is perfect for family meals after a day out exploring or climbing. The utility room is very helpful for cleaning boots and washing and drying out clothes and hanging up coats. Negative: I'm being a bit picky here, as there isn't really much not to like about this property. However, I think the kitchen crockery, cutlery and utensils are not of the same quality of the rest of the house. The amount of cups and mugs was also a bit low I thought. Given the large size of the kitchen, the small dishwasher was a bit odd given this is a 6 person property. An island or another table in the kitchen would be useful for food preparation and there is plenty of space for it.

Excellent location and well-equipped house for family holiday on Skye
Positive: My husband and I were travelling with my 82-year-old mum. We found the house easily thanks to the detailed directions and were quickly able to retrieve the keys from the lock box. Having a double room en suite on the ground floor was exceptionally helpful, as it meant my mum did not have to use the stairs, ideal for elderly visitors. There is a further shower room downstairs. My husband and I were upstairs in another double and there was a twin room upstairs which we did not need to use. I enjoyed a relaxing bath in our en suite upstairs and it was really no trouble to pop downstairs for a shower. The living area, dining room and kitchen were well equipped with everything we needed, although we only had breakfast at the house, visiting local restaurants for dinner. On that note, The Old School in Dunvegan is fantastic and there is also a gem of a bakery across the road, although this closes at 2pm. There is also a large Co-Op in Portree but we had shopped in advance of our trip. Negative: There was nothing we did not like, although a new non-stick frying pan might make scrambled eggs less of a challenge. Overall, it may be that the house would benefit from an interior paint refresh.

The location was great for us to explore the Isle of Skye - you are about a 50min drive to each of the different peninsulas. Would definitely consider staying here again on a return trip to Skye.

Amazing Christmas
We had an amazing Christmas at Karinya. They had everything that a family would need and more. There were so many things we never thought of bringing but the house had it ready. It was very comfortable and felt like a home from home. Decorated beautifully and comfortably too. We will definitely be back in the future. As long as Karinya is available this will be our first choice of accommodation when visiting Skye. The welcome bottle of wine was a lovely touch too. Thanks again.

We stayed for 4 nights in the isle of Skye and This was the perfect house for the 4 of us. Plenty if space for us to spread out. It was located in a convenient location. The house was clean and we left it as spotless as we found it. The sheep across the street were lovely and the waterfall view from the front door was amazing. We all enjoyed the sauna after hiking. Positive: Location and facilities made our stay a very pleasant one. Easy to locate despite Sat Nav thinking that it was located 400yds away. The night sky with no light pollution was amazing. Enjoyed the wine which we didn't expect. Negative: whilst the wine was a nice touch, some milk in the fridge might be worth considering, as it is a bit of a trip to find somewhere if you forgot to bring it. Bad planning on our part.

Karinya Cottage on the Isle of Skye was a wonderful stay! The space was clean, modern, and incredibly spacious. The fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, large fridge, and new appliances made cooking up delicious meals a breeze. The abundance of windows provided breathtaking views of the landscape, immersing me in the natural beauty. The tastefully furnished cottage featured a large dining table, perfect for family meals, and the picnic tables outside offered a delightful al fresco dining experience. Located away from the tourist crowds, yet conveniently close to supply shops, it provided the ideal balance. The hosts were communicative and ensured I had a pleasant stay. The comfortable beds and couches guaranteed a good night's sleep and relaxation. Notably, the living room had a big TV with plenty of channels, delighting both kids and adults. My child enjoyed binge-watching favorite shows while we savored the mountain views with a glass of wine. Highly recommended!

We spent one week in this house. There was reasonable access to Portree and activities on the south end of Skye. The furnishings were functional and adequate for 4 adults. Although close to the road, the traffic noise was not noticeable as the property is well-above the road. Would definitely book again.

Great place to say for a few days when visiting Skye! The Cottage is in very good shape, great rooms and a shared living room. It has all the necessary amenities and more, really convenient. It is located close to Talisker Distillery and the Fairy Pools if you want to hike. Next to that you can visit many more places on Skye or go to the local pub/restaurant in Carbost to have some proper food and drinks! Great place to stay!

We had a wonderful stay here, the place is beautiful and had everything that we needed. The washer and dryer came in very handy, even had a spot to dry our shoes. A very nice kitchen with everything we needed to make some meals there. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Hair dryers in each room. The location was great, easy to find and fairly close to everything we wanted to do. I would highly recommend this place, it was fantastic.

We could not have been happier with our stay at this house! It was our family of four, and we spent four nights. We hiked during the day and all enjoyed the sauna and bathtub at night. The house had a beautiful view of a sheep farm across the street and a waterfall and mountains. We built fires in the stove at night and had a fantastic vacation. We drove in for dinner's in Portree, which was about 20 minutes away. It was really nice having quiet time and being away from all the people in the evening. The house was well equipped and felt big with the open floor plan. The furniture was comfortable. Thank you for the wine which we enjoyed. My family gives it FIVE STARS! We sure enjoyed your beautiful home.

Overall we had a great stay at the property. Great location, lovely views and very quiet area conveniently located for the Fairy pools and the Talisker distillery. Modern property with plenty of space and an enclosed garden. There were a few snags which we informed the management company of and hope that they attend to these before the next guests arrive. But would recommend to anyone thinking of booking.

We loved everything about this beautiful home. It was so clean and visually stunning, well stocked and supplied all our needs. We used the washer and dryer and appreciated the extra space in the entry room to change out of our outdoor gear. The sauna was a delight after the long hikes. The beds were wonderful and having three bathrooms was very convenient for the 5 of us. Situated on the island centrally and south of Portree this place allowed easy access to the fairy pools, fairy glen, Dunvegan Castle and both the east and west sides of the island. We climbed the Old Man of Storr and saw Kilt Rock lots of other sights. Thanks for a wonderful holiday in this lovely spot.

This fine house has a fabulous outlook to the cuillins. There is a driveway and small well kept garden at the front. The house itself is very spacious and perfect living , dining and eating areas . One bedroom on the ground floor and two upstairs. there is a very handy utility room with washing machine and dryer. The downstairs shower room also has a sauna which we didn’t use so can’t comment on. We felt very at home immediately and loved the way the house has been designed especially the upstairs gallery.. The addition of all the small extras was much appreciated as was the bottle of wine. Would highly recommend.

This was a great place to stay, especially with small children. It was a very safe environment for us to be cooking or relaxing while the children played. The location being so central meant minimal time in the car for the kids while we travelled around the island. We had a big storm while we were there and we felt very secure. The staff were excellent and were available on the phone whenever needed.
